The Mean Fiddler Food & Liquor Store is an enticing café, deli, gourmet food and beverage shop rolled into one location – a fabulous offering rarely found. When you turn left off Commercial Road into the Mean Fiddler complex, immediately turn left again. The bottle shop and deli are in the first building and there is ample parking.

It was the café’s ambience that took us by surprise – it’s light and roomy with comfortable lounges and café tables, even magazines and newspapers for customers having lunch or an afternoon coffee. Freshly prepared sandwiches, quiche and hot items such as open melts, soups, lasagne or curries are on the menu.

Stopping by for one item will most likely lead to several purchases! Displayed neatly like rows of uniformed toy soldiers, bottles of pastilles, mustard, pesto and jams stand at attention. Aisle after aisle, gourmet olives, oils and vinegars, pastas, rice and biscuits line the shelves.  The wine and beer selection will knock you out; it’s an astonishing range –  again, aisle after aisle of the best brands.
