Weddings in The Hawkesbury

Destination weddings continue to be a hot trend and the Hawkesbury villages have a wealth of great venues. Most have a full complement of services to make your special day and event run smoothly.

Are you a water person? Look at Retreat at Wisemans Ferry. Do you want a garden or lake setting? Perhaps Crowne Plaza Norwest, Sebel Resort Hawkesbury, Tizzana Winery and Mount Tomah Botanic Garden fit the bill. Do you want a view of the Blue Mountains and a rural setting? Try Tobruk in Maroota (near Wisemans Ferry). A chapel or church? You’ll find it at Sebel Resort Hawkesbury or historic Ebenezer Uniting Church.

Guests can stay at a unique B&B, at Mount Tomah’s Jungle Lodge, or one of the larger Hawkesbury or Baulkham Hills resorts. We’ve created a short list of businesses that specialise in weddings and wedding events. Your wedding will be as beautiful and serene as the setting you have chosen.

The Sebel Resort Hawkesbury has considered every option you might want for your wedding venue: a private chapel ceremony, a conservatory-style gazebo, or an intimate lakeside setting; from 40 guests to 140, luxurious and lavish or casual and relaxed – these are the many options.

However, once your choices are made, the staff will move mountains to provide a very unique and memorable event for that special day. Mums and dads are happy and guests pampered.

And, if pampering the bride and groom is high on your list, Villa Thalga Spa is the perfect place with a “for him and her” rejuvenating and revitalising treatment. This is a stunning spa, calm and indulgent with thick white towels and dressing gowns and soothing emulsions and essential oils – the ideal way to survive the rigours of a wedding.

And outdoor wedding is a very special affair and Mount Tomah is a very special place.

The gardens are enchanting – a fairyland really – for a wedding in any season. Spring flowers in bloom or trees in their miraculous autumn colours provide a vibrant backdrop. And in summer, the garden is still quite green and temperatures mild – your guests won’t swelter or scorch in the “cool climate” gardens.

Throughout there are several outdoor venues – the formal garden is very European with benches, flowered arches orderly boxwoods and manicured lawns. The Northern Pavilion is a stunning site looking out to the Blue Mountains and above the heather garden. A waterfall, manicured grassy lawns or a rock garden – overlooking the conifers and the Blue Mountains beyond – all romantic settings. The venue choices are dizzying.

And if a winter wedding is your desire, the Wollemi Room provides a panorama of mountains, green tree ferns and landscaped gardens. Guests won’t notice the chilly air in this sheltered environment!

The gardens are wheelchair accessible and a people mover transports guests comfortably. Take a look at the website: www.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au – you’ll see some beautiful photos of earlier wedding scenes.
